It is noted that the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists became actively functioning community of scholars, known around the world. Emphasizes that the idea of creation of such club of scientists has been proposed by the President of Kazakhstan N.A.Nazarbayev. The conclusion is that the club has become actively functioning «think tank» awareness of realities of the modern world economy and it's trends. Indicated that the creation of the Economic Club produced evidence-based practice recommendations aimed at improving the functioning of national economy in a globalizing world. It is shown that the club was initiated in holding annual scientific conference of young scientists economists and managers in Estonia. As an important point stands out that the tradition of the club is preparation for Astana Economic Forum Summit open letters to the leaders of the top 20 economies in the world.
Nowadays Eurasian economic club of scientists is quite prestigious and actively functioning community of scientists known all over the world.
Idea itself was proposed by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, creative politician with systematic thinking, and leader who very precisely feels contemporary challenges of the world.
As far as I know and remember, then-former Minister of Economic development and trade, currently the deputy head of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Bakhyt Sultanov, and thenPresident of Economic research institute Mr. Serik Nugerbekov have conducted serious monitoring of «Who is who» in economic science and in economic management. Based this monitoring, I was invited to join into the squad of founders of Eurasian economic club of scientists.
As I have devoted my life to scientific and engineering work for many years I was tied with Kazakh energy economists, and therefore was not surprised to the offer of then-former Minister Sultanov about joining in the squad of founders. Me as a professional interested in Kazakhstan was impressed by the very idea of such club. I was sure that it was the most appropriate time for creation of this club. So that is why I accepted the offer to become one of the founders of the club.
When I met the other founders of the club, I realized how thoroughly and professionally accurate was the selection of the founders. I think that such founders' selection predetermined further success of the club.
As far as club's successes are concerned, first of all, club has become an actively functioning so-called «Think Tank» of awareness of today's realities of world economy and its development trends, but also «a form of justification for the development and practical recommendations aimed at improving the world order and the prevention of negative phenomena in the world today».
With the purpose of realization of these two important club functions, I think that very contemporary anc adequate forms of club actions have been found:
Astana economic forum has become some sort of a platform for high-ranking politicians, largest business representatives from various countries and the most famous scientists and economists, sociologists, demographers, political scientists etc. At the present time, Astana economic forum is as getting famous and authoritarian as its Western analogue Davos forum, and I would compare it with the famous Club of Rome.
The club has also initiated annual scientific conferences of young scientists and economists, managers in Tallinn, Estonia. And here it should be noted the special role of the Institute of Economics and Management ECOMEN.
The club is actively using modem means of communication. Here I would like to mention the creation and regular release of magazines like «Economics, Finance, Research)) and «Eurasian Economic Review», and also creation of the Internet forum of the club.
The establishment of personal honors and awards of the club.
A major indication of the club's prestige was the establishment of a separated club of Nobel Prize winners (Astana club of Nobel laureates). The establishment of this club is a unique phenomenon. By itself it is recognition of «high quality» ideas and actions of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists.
Club has initiated the creation of the Eurasian Business Congress, composed of business representatives over 30 countries.
Preparing of open letters for the G20 Summits in the framework of Astana economic forum has become a tradition for the club. The analysis shows that the ideas and proposals contained in these letters are reflected in the decisions of the Summit.
As far as the stuff is concerned, I would note the role of the Coordination Council of the club, especially its Chairman Mr. Bakhyt Sultanov and Vice-chairman Mr. Serik Nugerbekov, and all team prepared the previous forums.
